Red Haus is a factory built cabin placed in a wooded site in Rossland, BC. The developers of Red Haus were interested in exploring factory built construction as a way of improving quality and reducing cost in a relatively remote section of British Columbia, Canada. Due to the fact that the site was at the base of a ski mountain, extremely cold weather and thick snow coverage reduced the building season to a few months in the summer and early fall. The fact that the house was constructed off-site in a controlled factory environment allowed the project to extend the construction season and be set in December.
